First time read by this author at a recommendation from someone who loved this book; however, I'm REALLY struggling with the speech patterns of the h. Sometimes she has a Cajun accent --- dem instead of them, de instead of the --- and sometimes she doesn't. Also, if she was a debutante and went to finishing school, thinking she'd be a bit more articulate and not have those speech patterns.

If I'm being honest, I have to say I'm more than a little scared as I start this book. It's WAY out of my comfort zone but my blog partner has done everything but beg for me to try it. So here goes.
