Status Updates From Trick or Treat

So, I've seen a few reviews complaining about Maratha, and I haven't gotten far in this book, but I can't stop thinking about how they're calling her whiny and annoying.

Maybe she is again, I haven't gotten far, but they're also acting like she doesn't have a right to be upset.

I'm sorry, but she and Conner both were just uprooted from everything they've ever known. I think they have the right to be upset.

No, sir, we're not doing that.

You seem like you love your daughter a lot, but what we're not going to do is make her feel guilty for feeling nervous about moving to a new place with new people.

I understand you want what's best for her, but you are not going to imply that she doesn't like your new wife when her whole life has just been turned upside down.

Pre-Thoughts: Okay, so I've never heard of this series and I have never heard of this author, but I read a few pages of this book and I instantly felt a wave of nostalgia that I haven't felt in forever when it's come to a book.

So I'm so excited to read it, because 80s and 90s horror is my jam, and I've been looking for books like this for forever!

Going backwards in time and reading some old school YA horror. There’s so much nostalgia in the covers alone and it’s bringing me back to my early teenage years where I’d come home from the library with stacks of these old classics

Predictable with some annoying characters but somehow I'm enjoying it lol The writing is quite good, very intense and suspenseful, even if the plot and actions/reactions of characters are over the top and kind of silly lol It's very much of the era. Looking forward to the ending though I think I know what happened and what is happening. I'll confirm if I was right when I review it later lol
