Status Updates From The Blacksmith's Wife

I honestly don’t know which MC is more obnoxious: the sullen, passive, avoidant hero, or the clueless, naive, whiny heroine. 😑 Rarely do I encounter a romance where both leads are equally deserving of a frying pan to the face.

Good grief, this hero is so passive. Total turnoff. I’m not saying he should be Rapist McBeaty, but c’mon. If you want her to forget your stupid brother, PURSUE HER! WOO HER! At least show some backbone, ffs.

Zzzzz. This is…really boring. And the heroine is so obnoxious. Bleh.

‘“Sir Roger will marry me,” Joanna insisted. Of course he must love her, to be so direct & forceful with his embraces.’ ….Methinks Joanna’s brain is the size of a walnut. Science would marvel! 😱 But I hope she grows more grey matter in a hurry, because so much dimness is wearying to read.

Who knows how this’ll go. One Hobbes I liked a lot; another Hobbes I liked the hero but was meh toward the rest.

Wow I read this quickly. There was a lot of misunderstandings, some of which were silly, but this story was simple and thus the emotion was more pure and I just kept on reading and reading and reading! Full review to come.

This is a new to me author and thus far I'm enjoying it. The characters are awkward and jump to bad conclusions but it feels very real for a marriage of convenience and it keeps me turning pages!

I enjoy the setting of this one, but not loving how resistant the 2 characters are to each other.
