Status Updates From تئوگونی هسیودس

I’m just so proud of my Greek mythology knowledge. I’m reading this and like, yup, thanks Percy jackson 😮‍💨 been there done that.

For some reason this made me laugh at loud-

“And misguided Epimetheus, who from the start turned out a disaster to men who live by bread, since he was the original one who received the moulded maiden from Zeus for a wife.”

I read it as in moulded maiden like he had a moldy wife 💀😂 I was like dang, poor girl. Misreading is the best sometimes.

“For from her is descended the female sec, a great affliction to mortals as they dwell with their husbands….”

that’s us yall 😎😂 thank you Hesiod, I’ll take it as a compliment 😁

About day and night:

“One carries far-seeing light for those on earth, but the other baleful Night, shrouded in clouds of mist, cradles Sleep, the brother of Death.”

تا اینجا اشعاری که از هسیوس خوندم درباره موساها بود که در مورد جلال و شکوه پدرشون زئوس در قله الومپس میخونند. موساها، ۹ خواهر هستند از هم بستری زئوس و منموسینه دنیا اومدند.در ابتدای تئوگونی، هسیود می‌گوید که موساها اون رو الهام بخشیدند و به او توانایی خواندن سرگذشت خدایان رو دادند. یعنی در نگاه هسیوس، شاعر صرفاً کسی نیست که خودش داستان می‌سازد؛ موساها حقیقت و دانش به شاعر می‌بخشند و شاعر اونا رو بازگو میکنه.
