I still think this has great pieces of advice. The only thing is that this book does get a little boring/dry. The 'for your toolbox sections' might be best in general (and not only when you're short on time) to read and then only go back through the chapter for details and extra examples.

The 'for your toolbox' sections at the end of each chapter are great. I would recommend reading them first and then going back through the chapters for specifics if you're in a time crunch.

This is fantastic so far. Of course, you could learn a lot of what Morris talks about just from reading a wide variety of novels, but she's created a centralized summary of many key takeaways from books that have both excelled and failed. I also appreciate that she doesn't drone on with examples (as some other 'how to write' books can).
