i love the way this guy writes, philosophy gets so boring when everyone's trying to come up with logical theorems to prove things in the word equivalent of math.... this guy's just like "life sucks, here's why, but also life is beautiful.... and a HUGE disappointment, don't have kids." he's perfect

Schopenhauer categorizes truth by its "ground" (Grund). Logic (formal) links judgments, while empirical truth anchors them in perception. Transcendental truths (space, time, causality) allow experience itself. Metalogical truths are our hardwired cognitive "joints." I remain skeptical: these aren't "transcendental" insights, but merely the biological constraints of our brain's operating system.

Schopenhauer rejects common-sense bias, arguing the mind is an evolved, practical tool ill-suited for metaphysics. He posits responsibility lies in the "intelligible character" rather than free will. Acts are necessary expressions of character, not choices. Intellect acts as a lens; if compromised, responsibility dissolves. Law is not retributive, but a tool to provide countermotives to future harm.

I'll pause this one cause I don't seem to be paying much attention when I read it at this time.
