Started this book after my 9 year old son told me its a must read. Can't refuse that!

Holy Christ, I forgot how much this book sucks. Haven't read it since 2016. I was hoping that I had exaggerated how much it sucks, but nope. It's garbage.

Andrew Clements was a very talented writer, and I like a lot of his books. But I do not think that he was very good at writing from the perspective of women in first-person. Already, the character of Alicia is out of character. She would never, ever call her dad "Daddy". It goes against who she's been established to be in the first book.
