Status Updates From The Notebook Trilogy

Finished the second book in here. The brother that stayed behind goes through a lot of tough stuff including losing the only thing really anchoring him to reality. At the end the twin who left comes back to the town but the one that stayed is long gone.

One of the twins crossed the border at the end of the last book. None of the soldiers are identified by their nationality but it’s implied that the town went from Nazi occupation to Soviet control. A girl who has her father’s child runs away from home and the twin that stayed in town takes them in. He also has a fling with a librarian that is fifteen years his senior and devastated by her husband’s hanging.
