At this point in time I would rate this book 3 stars. While the in-depth characterisation is still a great strength, it is also the book's greatest weakness. This is because not a lot else is happening. We have three lads that have left home to find/prove themselves. Hmm so angry man and his cousin side kick have discovered previously hidden abilities. I am a bit Dismayed at the repetition of certain themes with this author. She has a thing about stomach/gastro ailments and vomiting. She also has a thing about Eldritch discovering powerful abilities and its psychological impact on them.

I'm glad I read the first two books close to the release of the third. So good.
