The Henri III and prob Catherine de Medici his wife ordered a prominent Huguenot killed Coligny, and the violence spread to other Huguenots and thousands in and around Paris. It was the most famous of so many massacres of both sides in the French wars of Religion from 1562-1598. Satan was believed to have promoted , lived in and perpetuated these wars.
