/// stitched together out of other books. I have been told the whole plot of The Master and Margarita, I have read excerpts from The House of the Dead and a precis of The Idiot. The couple of original characters are not people at all. :( I wanted to like this.

feeling cheated as it's playing more with The Master and Margarita than The Idiot. Give me D.! I didn't much take to Bulgakov when I read him so a bit wasted on me. Waiting for The Idiot.

Last night read 20% of a Lauren Groff having muddled her with the name I want to read, Laurie Sheck. Reading because of her Dostoyevsky pieces in Paris Review, The Atlantic, Granta -- what author's more enthusiastically a Dostoyevkian? This novel inspired by The Idiot. (The Groff DNF).

I've pushed myself as far as I can go with this one. Entirely written as different peoples thoughts and musings, I cannot continue. I'm not sure what I'm reading about-what the main plot is. It's random thoughts, short blurbs on every page. The very concept of this book is hidden in overly detailed almost run-on sentences. Very disorganized mindless chatter. Don't waste your time.

I have never read a book in which the author uses too many descriptives in one sentence. I'm on page 63 and haven't figured out what I am reading about! If this doesn't get better by page 100 this will be the first book I've never read til the end.

I'm struggling not to write this book off too early. So far my impression is it's nothing but pages and pages of rambling thoughts and disconnected, disjointed chapterettes. Every page goes off on a different tangent. Not impressed so far.
