Status Updates From The Sun Also Rises

Absinthe reference is classic

Part one of the Sun also Rises was alright, but I’m hoping for more from Hemingway in the next two parts. Brett is interesting to say the least. I don’t particularly like her; she seems quite the user. I wish Jake wouldn’t humor her as much as he does. I think the writing of this novel is really good, though I wish something would actually happen. At the moment it is moving a little too slow for my liking.

So far I find The Sun also Rises to be very intriguing. I wonder how the plot of this novel will advance, but for now, the boredom and discontent that Jake Barnes has with his life resonates greatly with me. I think I will like this novel significantly more than I liked A Farewell to Arms, and I look forward to finishing part one and seeing how the plot begins to progress and unfold.
