Status Updates From English in America: A Lingu...

I'm enjoying the lectures and find it interesting, but I am confused at who she thinks is the audience. I also think she can be contradictory. The main thesis of the series is that all dialects, vernaculars, etc are equal and valid. However, there are several times she will play an example of an accent and then say something like "wasn't that different and unusual?" and I'm like, "no that sounds like home."
