Status Updates From Rundown (Pratt & Ellis Myst...

Novellas make for nice easy escapism I’ve discovered. This mystery series certainly is. I was right about whodunnit and why. Satisfying to have figured it out early on and see how they worked it out. Didn’t guess who the final victim turned out to be! Wish there were more in this series because sometimes you just need a rapid pleasant read.

I figured out the why and who (tho not the name) a few chapters ago. Well, remains to be seen if I figured right! This novella is a fun read. Light, enjoyable when you just want to enjoy a mystery with nicely drawn characters and not think too hard. I don’t know why more wasn’t written in this series. They didn’t meet trad publisher sales deadlines?? Or the author got bored?? It’s too bad.

I so enjoyed the first one in this novella series, I borrowed this one. For some reason, the library doesn’t have the second one available in ebook format. Kind of weird to skip one. But maybe no one requested it?? This one differs slightly in that it’s told from three different points of view (so far), unlike the first one, which was only from Pratt’s. But it’s done well and seamlessly.
