Though I haven't read the rest of the series at all, this might be the most meticulously-written case of literal and figurative character assassination I've ever seen. Well-written and well paced? Yes. Made me laugh at the gradual absurdity? Also yes.

I don't know why most of the book is happening at the end of the book? Is this normal? I suppose that's what a climax is but I do feel like a lot of the first half has become completely irrelevant.

Predictable yet lamentable that Dash is the one being sidelined - it's because he's the best one. A bit odd how the story was originally mostly about Dash and Jimmy with a few military scenes sprinkled in for the stakes and such, but since The Event (I'm still fuming about that btw) there's been little reason for me to pay attention to the overall assault. As a first-timer who doesn't know these people, that is.
