Status Updates From Merlin's Ring

There was a dragon great and grymme,
Full of fire and eke venymme;
And as a lion were his fete,
His tayle was long and full unmete;
Between his head and his tayle,
Was twenty-two foote withouten fayle;
His body was like a round wine tun,
He shone full bright against the sun;
His eyes were bright as any glass,
His scales were hard as any brass.

Sylphs find no mirror in limpid springs,
Just cast-off trash and dusty things.
Smoke fouls the air for gauzy pinions
In every one of Man's dominions.
Aeolus chokes in fumes so strong
And war disturbs the siren's song.

Where Aphrodite rose from foam,
Man's refuse fouls the mermaid's home.
Naiad and Undine pine and sigh
For pollution slew the Lorelei.
No plain for centaurs, no copse for Pan
We must seek a better plan!
