This is a real rollercoaster of a history book. Volleying between detailing wars in agonizing detail to more humorous short anecdotes about Athenian life and personas. A bit weird talking about gods like they were real, but I appreciated the sarcasm from the author about the oracles being paid off. Book is pretty mid- I would probably have skipped parts if I had the written format instead of audiobook.
