“The frightful fog scared the wits out of them, and they broke camp so fast that lighting hangs fire by comparison!” What does that even mean

Current worst read of the year. Was tempted to dnf but I’d (stupidly) feel bad about getting rid of it if I don’t finish it

I like the idea of this book but it’s poorly executed and organized. There are however ideas in the book that made my day and made me smile with how incredulous it was. Overall I don’t recommend it but it was a pleasant enough read if you can get past the flaws and pretty short.

Lots of misinformation, I like the idea of the book, but there’s lots of racism and it is incredibly hard to read for being such a short book. I got really excited initially as mythology, lore, and scary stories always has appealed to me, but this was severely disappointing as a Colorado native who usually enjoys ghost, paranormal stories or even hearsay, rumors and old newspaper.

A bit of a slow read. Some stories don’t seem to be deeply rooted in specifically CO lore but a mix of other lores and myths. The CO specific ones do intrigue me. I’m 50% into it 50% considering DNF’ing.

Kind of dopey, I was expecting something a bit more mature, instead it is a National Enquire version of history. People stripping off their clothes in Coors Field? Seriously? It would be so much better if it were handled with less tongue in cheek it would have been a much more satisfying read
