this is what happens when native texan fly-by-night-authorettes think they know enough about 1890s ireland and 1900s america to write a pearl clutcher, bodice-ripper of a fauxmance novellette and ensuing books, with a 'strong' female lead (ie, stealing, violence, gambling, wanton sex with abandon etc). the title is the most promising part.
