Oof. I’m struggling with this writing. First person from heroine. So far she seems super obsessed with how everyone looks and smells and I feel like I’ve read the words nasty and ugly too many times.

The whole "snard" part of the plot is beyond disgusting. I guess it makes the story unique in a way, but it's gross to the point where I can't even drink my coffee while reading because I'm afraid I'll gag.

I both like and dislike this novel. It's definitely unique in some ways (though not always good ways!).

A little more about the strange new planet they are on, and a little less of her incessant inner monologue, would've made for a better read.

The way this rapey, chauvinistic culture is being justified as non-rapey is hilarious.

She didn't buy and then set free any of the ugly slaves, as I recall. But the good-looking one with the magical unicorn 🍆 was the one who brought out her kinder side.
