A nice overview of issues in human brain evolution, the book was simultaneously very interesting and frustratingly blunted-edged. The author is very good about not taking sides in controversies, and thus is unlikely to be far from the mark in most of his interpretations and summaries -- but it makes the text feel less informative, cohesive, and provocative as result. will use mostly as a guideline to key references.
