The entire scene at the male strip club should've been taken out by the author. Unnecessary, terrible dialogue, and I see that turning off readers.

And it is interesting to see that dynamic change with adulthood - there is this frisson with childhood friends to lovers to separation to meet as adults again. This is one of my favorite tropes if done well

Part of it that the author is doing well is capturing the childhood friends dynamic. They were so close for so long they bicker like an old married couple/siblings.

This isn't always a healthy relationship thing. I have a childhood friend and we were like that - so close from such an early age and would bicker, point out flaws, gaslight. I'll give the author credit for capturing this

I'm honestly v. annoyed with Tyler. He's gaslighting Jemma. He's the one who broke up with her, why shouldn't she feel hurt? Even resentful? And if he feels so bad about doing porn...just quit? Him accusing her of being vindictive is out of line.

I am now so invested in this porn star and the behind the scenes stuff and how his life turns out. Who does he date? I want to know what happens after the fact and hope he does interviews. If he has enough money he'll probably end up with anyone though.
