The most covetous, griping miser in the world would have been cured of the vice of covetousness if he had been in my case; for I possessed infinitely more than I knew what to do with. [...]

I entertained different notions of things. I looked now upon the world as a thing remote, which I had nothing to do with, no expectations from, and, indeed, no desires about: [...] as Father Abraham to Dives, "Between me and thee is a great gulf fixed."

Crusoe: I’m loathe to sell "my boy” into slavery because it's wrong, and he secured my freedom. On the other hand, they’ll give me 60 pieces of silver, and promise to free him in 10 years if he converts to Christianity. What a moral quandary! Hmm.

Crusoe after becoming a landowner with the profits: Wish I hadn’t sold that guy into bondage because I could really use some extra slave labour for my plantation rn :(
