Status Updates From The Big Book of Science Fic...

I'm enjoying this rather long anthology. Just finished reading the story, "Darkness" by Andre Carniero. Very interesting look at a world plunged into darkness. Also enjoyed "A Modest Genius" by Vadim Shefner. It's a sly love story with a slice of Soviet scientific satire.

Favourites from this batch: Two Small Birds by Han Song. I was going to take a break, but since I have less than 20 stories left, might just get through then and finally finish the book.

The 80s of the book were a bit easier to read for me. Favourites were: Swarm by Bruce Sterling, Blood Music by Greg Bear, Bloodchild by Octavia E. Butler and The Owl of Bear Island by Jon Bing.

Had more stories that were entertaining this time. Especially: When it Changed, Where Two Paths Cross, Standing Woman and Wives.

I'm always reading this book because I read a story or two between other books. Once I finish finally it, I'll just start over again. Great collection of stories.

Didn’t really enjoy any from 44-55.

Best from 34-44, were “The Astronaut” and “2BR02B”.

Best stories from 23-33 to me were:

The Last Question and The Liberation of Earth.

Most enjoyable of the next 11 were The Microscopic Giants, September 2005: The Martian, Beyond Lies The Wub and Prott

Prott is my favourite of the first 22 stories.

Best of the 1-11: Sultana’s Dream, The Triumph of Mechanics and Mechanopolis.

The rest were either okay, meh or just terribly boring.
