Chapter Eleven. This book is like a whirlwind of fantasy and magic. Still hate the book cover.

This book is fantastic! Now that Irma has passed me I can get back to reading it. If I could change anything about a book series it would be the covers for this one. They truly don't do the book justice. But then I remember Willow and the fantastic world inside this book and I pick it back up. I just started chapter Four but I already feel like I know this world and Willow. Fantastic writing!

I am pretty much glossing over the errors now; they are so small but so prevalent that I can basically accept it as the author's "style" and keep right on reading as if everything was already on the page. The plot's a little discombobulated, but falling action tends to be messy, so no big deal!

Willow continues to infuriate me. Also, she's had a personality shift; this new self-righteous hander-out of sass was not present earlier in the book.

Willow has graduated from quite annoying to incredibly annoying, and overall this book is becoming genuinely a chore to read

Suddenly! Plot! Completely new villain right the hell out of nowhere! Senseless murder of a female character and rape threats against underage girls purely to show that the villain is evil! New powers as the plot demands! Do I really have to finish?

I've just read three chapters detailing how special Willow is, and one detailing how the one person who doesn't worship the ground she walks is making deals with the Devil. Just sayin'.
(Also, she still hasn't remembered Mrs Waddington getting arrested)

I have so many questions about Willow's relationship with the rest of the town.
Also, I'm keeping count of how long it is before she thinks about Mrs Waddington again.

Still better, but also still suffering from some worldbuilding and style problems

The SPAG definitely seems to be better so far, and there are a few places where the narrative has been tidied up. I'm cautiously hopeful.
I do, however, have to ask Willow why she went out of a way to get out a mirror and look at herself when she hates the sight of her own reflection.

Restarting - For Love of a Book has sent out a new edition, hopefully now with fewer glaring SPAG errors!

The plot has arrived, along with some suggestion of the Council actually having genuine coercive power. Unfortunately, it came packaged with an entire chapter reminding us of how incredibly special Willow is.

The plot is still hanging around somewhere, but I've long since lost track of who all the characters are.

The plot has put in an appearance, after a lot of heavyweight description and more SPAG errors than I could shake a stick at.
