Luther's manhandling and threats to arrest Gaby are really getting on my nerves. They have zero trust in each other and it's making it hard to connect with him, or root for them as a couple. I'm tempted to put this book down and just read something else....

I'm having issues with this book. The main character who has an 8th grade education, curses like a sailor and lives in a whorehouse is suddenly spitting out words like: prurient, maudlin and aphotic?! Did the editor hand Foster a thesaurus and tell her to try to class it up a bit?
