This book is of myriad essays compiled in no particular order. From folklores and Bollywood, bandits have captured our imaginations in many ways. Annie Zaidi reflects over their lives and how it has impacted our history by closely studying their lives through her encounters and and analyses. In the next Zaidi quickly shifts focus onto tea, that encapsulates the idea of love to her. so far so good.

I am really enjoying this book. One of the strongest pieces of thinking and writing about the many Indias that exist and their relationship to one another. Zaidi also records her responses to the atrocities she has to record, making the whole experience of reading and understanding this book a more human one, rather than just a consumption of narratives of poverty
