Status Updates From One Perfect Lie

I couldn't buy into the second half of the book, I got bored and then uninterested

It started off 3.5* then ended like 2* so I guess 2.5?

Weirdly, when speaking to his boss the narrator refers to him as Chris instead of his real name Kurt

I think that it was interesting in the beginning and once all the lies were revealed to us about halfway through, it fell incredibly flat and boring to me, almost leaning into soap-opera and then it randomly amps up to an episode of SWAT

There were some questionable things so let me get those off my chest:

Raz’s mom mentions seeing him shirtless

Evan’s mom is jealous of the sexting photos she sees of a girl in her sons phone

Weird tho that author has made two pedo references so far, that he’s not one but is profiling like one and that the girls liking him is flattering but he’s after the boys

In helicopter, Chris gets Evan from the van, bomb is thwarted but Chris’ face goes viral so he can’t go undercover anymore, wants to start training program for new recruits

Jordan thinks Chris is a hero, his mom is angry she fell for his lies but he eventually makes it up to her and they go on a date

and that she told her brothers a teacher found out about her relationship w Evan so she thinks they killed him along w her husband

The teachers family was fighting the fracking for a long while, their hay was affected, their horses, dad got heart attack from stress

At the family barn, a horse is making noises so they check the stalls to find trap door inside bomb making supplies and the teacher tied up, she says her brothers took Evan and that her brothers originally were going to blow up the fracking equipment not hurt ppl
