up to p39, the book covers a lot of history of pickett's music, from the cotton fields to detroit, and he also covers the history of the spiritual music wp started on and how it evolved into his own brand of shout soul music. what makes someone so talented beat up his girlfriends and family? i'm no shrink, but underneath the psychosis was a great great singer and performer.
