i understand every word, albeit the need for dictionary for some, however, it is with much difficulty to comprehend the full picture.

there really is a huge difference between modern novels and classics.

decadent = a state of moral or cultural decline, often characterized by excessive self-indulgence and a lack of restraint

Exuberance = the quality of being joyfully enthusiastic, energetic, and full of life

relinquish = to voluntarily or unwillingly give up, surrender, or let go of something, such as power, control, a possession, or a claim
