Katie Wright
is finished
This book has been a night mare to read because it’s only about 200 pages but it’s rly hard to read and genuinely a painful book. There’s like 7 pages left but I can’t make myself read them!

This is pretty painful to read. Like why did they take a five page detour from the story to talk about bees?? There’s a hundred and fifty pages I think. They shouldn’t be wasting pages and making everyone best friends!!

I feel like the story will be really interesting but it’s so hard to read because it in old English. My mum suggested it as it’s her favourite book but if you look at the reviews, one person says they first read it in ‘64 or something and it’s kinda freaking me out!! I also can’t understand every second sentence so that’s fun. I’m sure ur not faring much better with Lord of the Rings though!

We grasped hands, and he left me alone in the room where one should not be lonely. I went back to my hammock, and night found me there, and the rising wind blew forlornly across the heather. And I was lonely.

"If I am away, even as far as Spain or France, you will always find the key on the ledge above the inner door. The porch door is never locked. In the cupboard you will find tea, coffee, sugar an airtight tin of biscuits and the finest heather honey. The lamp will be filled, the fire laid and matches on the hob. "Oh,mI am grateful. But I fear that I shall never reach for the key above your door."

"You here? The ladies are gone round to your place to get the boat. They hoped you would take them on the loch. "That's a pity, now, Mr. Leng" said Archie, and he said no more. "That is unfortunate,' said Leng frowningly. 'The ladies have so little they can do up here." It would be easy to contradict him, for there is much that ladies can do anywhere.

Maurice Walsh is my comfort read, like a mix between Warwick Deeping and Jeffery Farnol, an Irish/Scottish version.

" It is here, if nowhere else, that a man should live in peace, ” I said; " but the mind of man, or the blood im him, or the lust, will not let the man be at peace anywhere. But above imagining and above blood and above lust there is the little white flame of reason that makes us men, and to that small flame of reason i will trust till it is drowned in madness.”

" She was as quite as fate, and as unafraid of what fate had brought her as any goddess in old Greece."
