I think the character writing is interesting. Like it'd probably hate Erwin but I've definitely known people like him so it's easy to slot him in and kind of enjoy being in his mind. I think it stand well in contrast to Stephen in particular, and also Carolyn, who is necessarily a little more unknowable but in a way that's compelling as well.

That was a really good chapter. I was doubtful I was going to be able to care about these secondary characters, but that at least was really good. The whole "some days everyone recognizes me" conceit tied everything together and made it shine. Here's hoping this trend continues.
