Status Updates From Biografi Umar bin Al-Khathab

“With the death of the Rightly-Guided Caliph ‘Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭâb (may Allah be pleased with him) a great era of history came to a close.” 💔

“The governors were well known for their eagerness to finish tasks straight away, with no delay. ‘Umar ibn al-Khaṭṭâb wrote concerning this to Abu Moosâ al-Ash‘ari, saying:

Do not put off today’s work until tomorrow, lest work accumulate and you achieve nothing.”

"And he said: 'Acquire knowledge before you become leaders and pride prevents you from learning and you live in ignorance.'
And he said: 'Even if knowledge does not benefit you, it will never harm you.'"

“And he ['Umar] used to say: I am not worried about a response, I am worried about making du‘â’. If I am inspired to make du‘â’ then the response will come with it.”

Such an excellent book, really.
