Darcy fled Hertfordshire after the Netherfield Ball. He did not say goodbye and left Lizzy crushed and confused. When Bingley told him the Bennets were coming to London for wedding clothes, Darcy fled to Pemberley. Now that the wedding approaches, as best man, he has no choice but to appear. However, looming on the horizon is the threat and approach of Mr. Collins. Oh Dear!!!

Lizzy and Jane have returned to Longbourn. Lizzy announced she and Bingley were not suited. Before her mother had an apoplexy she said he was better suited for her sister... to her mother's delight. Now, Jane has to let Wickham know she will no longer receive his attentions. This may not go well.

It was Lizzy that was invited to Netherfield by the sisters. She caught a cold and had a high fever and Jane came to care for her. Soon admiration began to transfer from Lizzy to Jane. The author used such beautiful language to convey affect and effect. I love the descriptive wording and presentations of dialogue and situations.

Wickham tells Jane of his convoluted and twisted history with Darcy. Her gentle spirit and manner is greatly affected by his sad expressions and soulful glances toward her. RUN Jane run!!!

What a juxtaposition of characters. Bingley meets Elizabeth first. Jane meets Wickham and falls under his spell as a fly falls into the web of a spider. He is taken by her innocent beauty and on first exam...seems affected by her sweetness. With him it is hard to tell.
