Status Updates From Grave Destiny (Alex Craft, #6)

Even Faylin knows she has commitment issues (by the 6th book tho?)

In terms of plot I feel like at the beginning our only suspect was already the Queens nephew but then we had to wait for the actual characters to discover it and he culprits conveniently calls them to the light court and he’s there and she kills him and then she leaves (I feel like it could’ve been a bit more complicated or we could’ve had other suspects or more lore)

Especially her relationship with Death feels really unbalanced he’s willing to die for her and it feels like she’s just casually dating him in comparison to Charley Davidson who also has a relationship with death feels a lot more volatile and emotional and I’m a lot more invested

Even when characters aren’t together there is an opportunity to have “push and pull” and have yearning to increase tensions and keep readers engage but I don’t see that here everything is kinda blase w/ minimal emotional appeal

I keep comparing this series with Kate Daniels and finding it not as good 😭 Alex craft doesn’t have that much world building since most lore it pulls from is fantasy and they don’t include that much of it either comparing to other fae series (e.g. fever) but the character development of FL and her relationships friendships and romance isn’t strong either (so nothing is filling the hole)

Most plot points r dragged for too long like with Faylin and the queen not resolve until the last book?? So no relationship developement. Her own history/original which court she’s originally from anything

Everything feels incomplete

No development with her romance, minimal growth with learning her magic skill, no lore about her father, her mother, her brother (who I’m pretty sure is the plane bender)

The villains r so 2d like the queen and her nephew

Um the plot is kinda basic what u think is happening is what is happening lol
