Status Updates From Self to Lose - Self to Find...

Highly relate to the five as well, especially lately.

Part of me relates a hint to the four, maybe just because I feel like a bit of a closeted creative at the moment. But someone mentioned my husband might be a four, and I can certainly see some patterns from the four in his behavior, but maybe more of the regressed patterns. Not sure he’s truly a four, and he has zero interest in these kinds of things and never feels like he relates to any of them.

Read through the Type 1, I’ve never tested as a 1, but definitely relate to a lot of what’s said. I would say my regressed state tends to move towards the more agitated qualities of a 1.

Oh good, I’m glad she clarifies that the adapted self is not sinful. David Benner was not so gracious to grant that clarity. Also, I like metaphors, but why does the “seed coat” one make my eyes roll a bit?

Oh good, we decided to use semantics as a tool to hide our duplicity. “False self” vs the “adapted self.” I’m half tempted to just skip straight to the enneagram shit.

Yes, these are GREAT questions. Also, yes, definitely relate to the idea of “striving to be like Christ,” though, funny enough, the Mormon version basically becomes a catastrophe of high-producing, perfectionistic, conventionally attractive people.

I mean, have you seen big cats? Horses? I don’t think anyone would look at a naked human in comparison and feel we are the most majestic creation!

Oh, blegh. Comparisons of humans to other animals and pedestalizing us makes me sick. No wonder so many Christians find the concept of evolution abhorrent.

Oh no, we’re quoting David Benner. What is with the strange obsession of being unique? What does it matter whether you know that in Christ or not? But also, I’d personally love to find the person on this planet who is my doppelgänger!
