this book has always peaked my curiosity and I am soooo intrigued to see where this one takes me. always thrilled to read a gothic horror, but especially one as controversial as this - thinking of something this scandalous coming out in the Georgian era is absolutely fascinating

skipped an entire days worth of class so i could study for an exam and read this novel.

finished the first volume. really invested in ambrosios story, got kinda bored with alphonso’s backstory but then it got really good at the end and i was pretty moved by marguerite!! looking forward to what comes next.
