extremely overrated.

I am more than a little suspect of somebody who knocks a poet the caliber of Wallace Stevens who is a god to me. Just because academics embraced the poetry of WS dos not mean to reject him on that basis alone. Jack, though courageous and smart and loved by almost everyone who reads him these days, is nothing, and I do mean "nothing", taken alongside the poetry and essays of Wallace Stevens.

Takes courage to take the stage and talk about your writing. Of course, he was drunk when he did it, but nonetheless, hard to do pickled or sober. Very engaging read.
