just barely started, not even sure what this book is about...just grabbed off my bookshelf.

I feel like I need to punch the character Lily. She's spoiled and petulant. Violet, nails herself to a cross since she doesn't seem to suffer enough living in the Great Depression. At that time (1930) the way unplanned/unintended pregnancy was dealt with, was the equivalent of a war on women....Oh, wait it still fucking is. I feel like authors point gets too lost in all the side issues from minor characters.
