In conclusion, it wasn’t my favourite book, it won’t stick with me, none of the characters or plot points were particularly memorable and the main character was bland enough to be forgotten amongst a see of other characters exactly like her.

The general point to the story was never made clear or reached upon other than Trista wanting to “find herself”. Finding herself, for the most part, was doing literally nothing. She didn’t try anything new other than hiking with Jude, didn’t try to make new friends other than Mila and didn’t dig deep inside of herself for something more.

She just fussed about Collin.

I also found it very hard to sympathise with Trista in her grief because Ellie didn’t feel significant enough within the story or within her life. There was no guilt from her death. No PTSD or flashbacks to help the reader get to know Ellie in more ways than just the first 2 chapters.

It was also predictable in the sense of the reveals in the end, though I didn’t suspect Collin was like Jude in his condition.

Very repetitive throughout. There were no “great revelations” due to this and it often grew tiresome reading over the same points at least ten times in every chapter.

Trista is so annoying. Seriously she makes it hard for me to read the book.
