not really taking in any of this at all- i can't say i don't like it but the prose is so dense. my professor says its like wading through treacle and i agree. can't deny how deliciously scandalous the plot is though

if there's one thing henry james is gonna do it's create a really vibrant and interesting character and have them only appear once every 100 pages
