Seeing as this book was translated I think I'm running into some pacing and tone issues. It's definitely gotten easier to read as I move on. Margaret Atwood basically spoiled the entire book in the introduction so if you're gonna read it I recommend skipping the parts where she talks about what goes on in the book.
