Incredible events described which happened in a theater in Berlin many many many moons ago: a German surgeon yelled that the soul of Germany is at risk because people discussed a pregnancy on the stage lolol.

The description of this book is whack. It's kinda setting up Goldman as a sorta anti-feminist, but she is just saying the suffragettes were classist (true, and racist) and that electoral politics don't really work, which I do believe we're still talking about now 🥲

This is quite great so far on many counts, but could definitely be more nuanced on sex work. She does talk about how crusades against gambling, alcohol and sex are distractions to stifle social movements and oh does that sound familiar!

Emma Goldman writing about the prison industrial complex more than a century ago... This is depressing, since things have maybe gotten worse and more organized??
