They kept a pace that was fast enough to take them to safety, but show enough to keep them from looking suspicious. Everybody's heartbeats trotted faster than the horses as the thrill of the act consumed them. The carriage reached the town's central square just as they heard explosions and shattering glass in the distance.

He was by her side, watching her struggle between life and death for what felt like an eternity. It was only then that Marcel admitted to himself that he had fallen in love with her.

Dr. Charles rested his arms on the chair. "When people have spiritual problems they search for spiritual leaders, priests, healers, clergymen, witches and so on. These spiritual leaders can help connect worlds, physical & astral, living & dead. In other words, a proper spiritual leader could put you in contact with Elsia, for at least one last time."

Dr. Charles stared at Leonhard and Elisa and nodded slightly. He was observing how much they enjoyed each other's company. It was clear that his friend's eyes shone only for her and that the young lady had strong feelings for him. Ah, love, the biggest poison and most dangerous drug there is.

Sorrow didn't flood the earthly home that night. Quentin, Margareth and Father Johannes were victorious. There was hug satisfaction that Elisa was finally gone and everything was going according to their plan. The unwanted seemed to have left them for good.

I kind of like Marcel for Elisa. And he's alive! It would make a relationship much easier.

I liked the bait and switch by Elisa and her aunt. This book is fantastic! So much action, romance, and so many surprises. My favorite book by Isis so far.

Funny when you're rooting for the heroine to die so she can return to her love. I'm sad that the same set sisters left Leonhard. Truly a fabulous book for Gothic horror/fantasy lovers

I'm glad Elisa is feeling better. Once her amnesia subsides I bet poo will hit the fan.
