Racing toward the final showdown. Decius was dispatched quite quickly. I guess it’s because of lessons learned from Amori. But the final showdown is with Venus. Looking forward to her extinction.

As we’re nearing the end of this epic tale, it’s a sure 5 star read. Better experienced on audio. I’m looking forward to how this tale is wrapped up. Awesome world building and intrigue by the author. 5 stars well deserved.

The most annoying AI is a stubborn and belligerent AI. Even with real world generalized models, when shown evidence of wrong information or analysis, they double down. It’s madness.

Did this bitch ass bitch AI just say humans can’t be trusted to govern themselves?? Girl, you’re shit. You’re ass.

Kill Venus. She’s useless and can be manipulated. She was completely powerless to such a serious breach that went on for months. If Elites are going to be useful leaders, they need freedom from Venus. A good question raised in this book is the utility of AI models vs humans and how powerless they are in the face of human ingenuity.

Lol if Venus can be reprogrammed and weaponized, how dead are the Elites that they haven’t done it again in the five years since?!

That was a well written, well choreographed action sequence. This would make a good movie/ tv adaptation. Still 5 star loading.

How do the stakes just keep rising? Who are the folks claiming the story drags on in the middle?! Maybe I’m speaking too soon? I’m so worried for Isa. And clearly, Venus authoritarian rule is the source of all chaos in the altereye system.

She decided to play it from the inside but was thwarted by the big event 5 years ago. The significant is relevant to Isa’s story because she gives her the strength and reason to attempt this coup again. I wonder how much of the wars in the altereye and attempts on her life are other people trying to stop her from this plan.

Okay. The central conflict has been revealed. The plot is about Golden Elite Isa and her ongoing plot to destroy all powerful AI, Venus. When we enter the book, we are in the middle of her second or third attempt at this. She had tried the rebellious route and was nearly killed but was saved due to the death of the last Golden Elite.

Nearing the half way point and it’s unclear what the central conceit of this book is. Maybe it’s not one thing. I’m enjoying it immensely though. Still on track for 5 star.

So there are a number of moving parts to keep track of: the ninth circle, gihron, Caroie, trid and anon.

Venus is a capitalist, austerity, authoritarian AI.

What?! We’ve finally met Venus?! I haven’t been more anxious to meet a character in a novel.

So this is clearly a 5 star read. But I’m only a third of the way through. 😭

Jesus Christ Elite Isa. And Kailynn. I’m stressed the fuck out.

Tension is up. But I don’t know what the central conceit of this novel is. We’re under a third of the way in and the action is intense already. I’m anxious for Isa and Kailynn. But there’s more issues now. Initially, I was concerned about Venus finding out but Venus is a lenient master about her Elites’ transgressions. The bigger problem is the public finding out which were barreling towards. Yikes.

First, all the claims that this book isn’t a romance are false. The relationship between the MCs is the underlying base of the story.

Also, given the rules prohibiting sex with Elites and the fact that they flouted those rules regularly and Venus AI let them, I’m wondering about her motive.

My assumptions at this point is that Venus is the main antagonist but we haven’t met her yet so it’s unclear.

I’m enjoying this.
