Status Updates From Triptiek (Will Trent, #1)

So I saw a later book in the series and that there was the tv show. Started reading the newer book where Trent is married. Then watched 2 episodes of the cartoonish tv show. Then started this first book. It's a bit weird in that you don't see Trent until chapter 2 and it's from someone else's point of view. And he's not in part 2 at all. So I skipped chapter 1 and part 2. He's a weird guy but good investigator.
