This is really good. I have a certain suspicion about the story and if I'm right, then I find this absolutely breathtaking. If I'm wrong, I don't know how to deal with that....

I seriously hope this'll turn out to be an undercover mission of some kind. Or else I'll throw my Kindle against the wall.

'After the movie, a news show with a handsome slave anchorman came on.'
And don't we know who that is :-)

'Everyone said God wouldn’t listen to slaves since they had no souls, but maybe he’d take pity on one nonetheless.'
This is even darker than the first two books.

Oh thank you jeebus, the "consent" discussion.
I was gonna go off in my review on how this was shelved as BDSM when the main tenet of the lifestyle is "safe, sane, consensual" and there can be no consent when a person is a slave, doesn't own himself, has no agency or power to wield in this kind of situation. MASSIVE kudos for that, Kim!

Another one for my personal reading challenge (category: slavery); because I'm ambitious that way *lol*

So. I started and then I accidentally skipped to the end and I didn't notice and then suddenly there was the ending. And it still made sense. So I'm going back and try this again (but basically you can read the first 1/6 and the last 1/6 and it works fine apparently.)

I really like that Fielding choose to make Sky a relatable mid 30s. I keep reminding myself as I read that he is that old. It's refreshing in a world of books with young things.

To be fair, I don't think Master is able to treat Sky as a slave, as property. It just isn't in him. He doesn't see people like that. But he's gotta act the part when he's trying to ingratiate himself with the arrogant douche paddle club. So, at home, he's natural. Poor Sky.

*shakes head sadly and with an edge of disapproval* Oh, this master! What a fool! He's actually doing Sky a disservice by treating him considerately, kindly, respectfully--as if he were an equal, not a slave. It's just fucking Sky's head up worse. If anything, he should tell him the plan (which is fairly obvious: he's undercover for some humane seeking organization).
