There are multiple stories going on: the mining company shut down, guitar Rocker Jim and his vet wife Melinda, Devlin Lucero "seducing" teacher Jessica to come work for him and what I thought would be the priority, Esteban's quest, doesn't get going until ~ 37%. Not sure yet how all these stories contribute and fit into the quest/plot; I'm getting side-tracked.

Magical realism is a new genre for me, but I have an open mind. So far I like: 1. Since I don't know Spanish, I'm learning some new words 2. I like the idea of a quest 3. I like how the book started with a VERY strange happening (camels in AZ ??) and 4. I like the characters.

Nick Iuppa is a GoodReads author and has participated in many book discussions of which I have been privileged to be a part. He is very insightful , and I respect his opinions. He has just released, today, I believe, his ESTEBAN'S QUEST book, and I thought that it is time to see what he is about as a novelist. . I wish him much success with his newest novel.
