loved the book. this book reminds me of childhood memories, of church picnics & summer adventures. the authors childhood was similar to mine. after all we both grew up in rural massachusetts. in addition she also explains as an aside, all the Duffy types of Protestantism. all of this is in addition to the history of the serenity prayer! well worth the read.

Comprehensive, clearly opinionated and yet fascinating portrait of a prayer, its author, his contemporaries and the world at a critical time

An intriguing book. The context behind this indelible prayer is fascinating, as are the people involved; the writing's stilted at times.

An interesting book - part memoir, part commentary, part spiritual treatise. Overall, it's a compelling reflection on faith and society.
