Status Updates From Proust and His World

Feeling a five-star rating coming on. Learning new words, too: micturition, etiolated for two. Also fun to see priapic, which I learned in graduate school while doing a paper on the Comanche chief Buffalo Hump. And I can report that the little guy who lives in the iPhone and tries to finish words had to learn those new words, too.

This is a unique and fascinating treatment of one of the world’s unique and fascinating (or perhaps perplexing) writers/characters. Samson’s text just rolls on and on .. apparently no chapters or breaks .. is it a mirror of Proust’s never-ending novel(s)? Whatever, it is compelling and kindling again a desire to return to Mr.P. I don’t have time! But …

I am being naughty and beginning this now, eager to flex Proust's muscles before I was due. It is a lot better than expected. I purchased it for the plates, which are good but disappointingly in black and white, but the text is good and an excellent introduction.
